49 Days Episode 18

             At the restaurant, Han Kang and Song Yi Kyung are argueing. "I won't give up on Ji Hyun," says Kang in short breath. He then asks Ji Hyun to not talk to her like that. Yi Kyung is deeply touched and hugs Kang from the back followed by heart stopping moments. As they stand still, tears drop from Yi Kyung's eyes. "Are you Ji Hyun?" says Kang searching through his heart.

Yi Kyung cannot answer.

Kang softly puts his hand on Yi Kyung's hand and asks her to deliver the message to Ji Hyun:

"Can you tell Ji Hyun to tell me what she wants to tell me now when she wakes up? I want to hear her. Tell her not to leave without a 'good bye' like my mother." 

Kang then drops his hand and turns to walk back to his office.

             Meanwhile Min Ho is standing outside watching Yi Kyung and Kang through the window. He then turns back furiously and leaves. 

             Scene turns to Kang's place where Ji Hyun and Yi Kyung are talking on sofa. Yi Kyung tells Ji Hyun that she would gladly give up her life for hers. Ji Hyun asks if Yi Kyung had given her body to Ji Hyun, because she gave up with her life. Yi Kyung asnwers yes, and Ji Hyun cries at the sad reality of her wanting to stay with Kang and Yi Kyung wanting to leave.

In Jung wakes up from a dream where Ji Hyun was lying next to her haunting her. Frightened, she texts Min Ho to come to her saying that she is scared.

             Minho enters the house and finds In Jung crouched in living room scared to death. He tells her that she had been right about Ji Hyun and Song Yi Kyung. In Jung says that Ji Hyun will haunt her for the rest of her life. Min Ho then comes with the most cruel idea: to take off the life support off Ji Hyun. He says that Ji Hyun is not a ghost, and she haunt them if she is completely dead. However, he is too cowardly to do it himself. He tells In Jung to do it because he cannot enter the hospital due to Ji Hyun's father's watch. In Jung only shakes her head in tears. Is that a yes or no? 

             As Yi Kyung falls asleep in bed, Song Yi Su watches her. He strokes her hair and laments on their harsh fate.  

             In the morning, Ji Hyun and Yi Kyung are talking on the sofa again. Yi Kyung says that she remembers what Ji Hyun did inside her body last night. Ji Hyun asks her why Yi Su came before. Yi Kyung answers that he had come to take her with him. Before they get into more detail, Kang knocks on door and the conversation has to stop. Ji Hyun enters Yi Kyung's body to see Kang. 

             Kang says that he needs help with grocery shopping and takes her to market place. At the market, Yi Kyung makes fun of him for being talkative and arrogant like Min Ho, only to realize that the grocery was for him to cook breakfast for her. Ji Hyun is deeply impressed. As they eat breakfast they talk about her eating well. Kang tells her that he has to go talk to her father to talk about sending a petition to settle with Min Ho. Yi Kyung says that she is relieved to have saved the company at least.  

             Things aren't so pretty. The payment for company's emergency loan is next week. Failure to will result in giving the ownership of the company to Min Ho. Their last hope is to get the contract with Hanoi Suzu signed!

             As they exit the office, Kang and Ji Hyun's father encounter In Jung. Surprised to see the treacherous girl still working at the company, Kang gives her looks. The father seems to not know about In Jung yet and leaves. Kang then takes her to a cafe, and gives her the last chance to give up and stop Min Ho. She tells him that she can neither stop him nor leave him. 

             At the restaurant, "HEAVEN," Yi Su comes with his charm and asks for Song Yi Kyung to serve him. Yi Kyung, well Ji Hyun inside her is being mean to him and kids around. Ji Hyun asks him if his deepest wish was to take Yi Kyung with him. 

"What are you talking about?" says Yi Su with darkend face.

Ji Hyun tells him that that is what Yi Kyung thinks and she wants to know if that was the reason why Yi Su volunteered to become a scheduler. Yi Su leaves without answering Ji Hyun's question in seriousness. 

             In Jung asks Min Ho if he still loved both Yi Kyung and Ji Hyun. Min Ho answers yes. He says that he cannot stay with In Jung either as long as Ji Hyun is alive, because he can't be sure if she is possessed by Ji Hyun or not. Is he telling truth or is he just messing with In Jung's mind? It doesn't matter, because In Jung already has made up her mind.

             At Ji Hyun's hospital room, In Jung watches over secretly and comes in. She looks down at Ji Hyun hard for a moment then reaches for the respirator. Kang enters and finds In Jung. He rushes up and pulls In Jung off. Furious he shouts at In Jung for being inhumane. He warns her to leave the hospital before he kills her. The silly girl only sobs on the floor. Ji Hyun, who has been watching through all this drops on the floor and cries. Kang runs to Min Ho.

             Finally the two men face off. Kang shouts, "You are cheap and low. You are even lower than your father who took your mother's pocket money gambling. Despite your mother's efforts to make you not like your father, you are still lower than him." Deeply insulted Min Ho yells at him. Kang goes on, but Min Ho doesn't get too physical. 

             The contract with Suzu has been taken by Hyuksan. This was all plotted and planned ahead by Min Ho. Their last hope to save the company is lost. Grasping for threads of hope, Kang plans to go to America to ask his father to invest in their company. Ji Hyun's mother deeply thanks him for his service. 

             Min Ho hands over Min Jung a bank account in her name. He insists that she stays abroad for a while. As they open the door, Ji Hyun's mother is standing in astonishment.

             "You are done you trashy bastard. It was my fault for not spotting trash early." says the mother and enters the apartment. 

              In Jung hands the bank account back to Min Ho and tells him to leave. Ji Hyun's mother is surprised at In Jung's act and stands with her mouth ajar.  

             After Min Ho leaves, the mother steps up and slaps in her face. 

"I knew what you were, you treacherous brat." yells her mother. 

In Jung finally shows her true color. She tells her the sorrows she felt from false kindess that she had given her when she adopted her. She blames her for the incident of her being kidnapped, when Ji Hyun was worried about her own daughter. She did not even ask her if she was ok. The mother asks her if that was the reason for her doing it. In Jung shows her true colors and admits that she is right. She even says that she hopes that they hit bottom. 

             Ji Hyun and Yi Kyung talk about dating. They result to the conclusion of having a picnic together. Meanwhile, Kang doesn't know this and leaves to America. He does not know that Ji Hyun does not have 2 days to wait for him. Only later when Ji Hyun makes lunch for picnic, she finds out that he has left. She can't now keep the promise of not leaving without saying a "good bye." Yi Kyung goes to see the psychiatrist, and tells him that she is leaving.

             The Scheduler is training the new recruit. He downloads the last list of scheduled people then skips to the last person he has to take. His face darkens as he looks at the phone. Who can it be?

             Yi Su finds Ji Hyun resting and wasting her last day. He tells her that seh has 16 hours left. There are few more rules. She cannot even leave a letter in her name, because that would result in hurting the heaven's order. Ji Hyun whines, but she has no choice. The next day she spends the morning shopping gifts for her parents. It's their anniversary. When Seo Woo finds out that she is getting a cake for their parents, she says that Yi Kyung is a better friend than her. Seo Woo insists that she will pay, saying that she is her best friend. Yi Kyung says that she already knows because Ji Hyun said Seo Woo was her best friend. A friend like a shade of a large tree. Seo Woo misses Ji Hyun after hearing this.  

             At the hospital Yi Kyung lights up candles for Ji Hyun's parents, and turns on the CD that Ji Hyun normally sings for her parents. Ji Hyun seperates from Yi Kyung's body and sings along in tears.

         Yi Kyung envies Ji Hyun for having such a nice family, whereas her family was broken and hateful. She thinks she is just lucky to have had Yi Su in her life and looks back at her childhood. Young Yi Kyung is sobbing because kids are making fun of her for liking her own brother. Yi Kyung blames Yi Su for naming her like siblings. Yi Su says he is sorry, and says that he will find her real name one day with a big smile. Yi Kyung then gives him carnations for the Parent's Day, saying that he is like a father and a mother to her. Yi Su smiles. 

             The next day Ji Hyun makes breakfast for Yi Kyung with a note. He tells her to eat healthy meals and to live her life with hope thinking of her. She has also left a giftbox with underwear and facial products. She goes outside and is greeted by Yi Su. He asks her if she has a place she wants go, because he can take her as the last day special. Surprisingly Ji Hyun says that she wants the elevator called right now. She does not want to spend her final minutes feeling rushed to get tears. She has given up and is willing to leave. 

             With great reluctance, Yi Su makes the gestures to call on the elevator. Suddenly he finds the necklace filling up with a drop of tear. Yi Su and Ji Hyun are both shocked as they exchange looks. Next the necklace fills up with another drop of tear. Ji Hyun looking shocked, bursts into tears. 

Ji Hyun finally opens her eyes. Who could have those tears come from?

She will not remember anything that has happened during her travel. Will she still be in love with Min Ho? How will she take the heartbreaking news again, that her best friend and fiance were only plotting to ruin her family? 

Most importantly! What about Kang? Her feelings toward him? Stay tuned for the next episode!
