[ASKKPOP] 5urprise's leader Yoo Il cast for musical version of 'Secretly and Greatly'!

Fantagio's idol group5urprise, who branched into acting first instead of releasing music like most other groups, have been busy with various acting gigs since their debut back in 2013. The members have proved their talent through dramas, musicals, and more, and the group's leaderYoo Ilis no exception! 



Yoo Il was cast as the lead role of the musical version of 'Secretly and Greatly,' which was published as a web-toon and for which a film remake was inspired, starringKim Soo Hyun. The idol, who wowed everyone with his tap-dancing and stage presence for his musical debut 'Ro-Gi-Soo,' is drawing fans' anticipation as to how he will interpret the role of Won Ryu Han. 


Yoo Il relayed his thoughts on landing the lead role, saying, "'Secretly and Greatly' is great work which you can enjoy over and over again whether through the original web-toon or the movie remake. I've always thought that Won Ryu Han is a great character who possesses many cool characteristics so I'm thankful for being given the opportunity to portray him. It's an honor to stand on stage with veteran actors I admire and for a great piece of work; I'll practice hard until the very day the musical premieres. Please look forward to it."
