A pretty light show celebrates National Liberation Day of Korea (Gwangbokjeol)

August 15 will beGwangbokjeol, marking the 70th anniversary of South Korea's liberation from Japanese occupation, and the national flag is seen everywhere in the country. 


Most notably, the flag can be most prominently seen in a special light showcase at the Daejeon National Cemetery. The cemetery is where many Korean veterans who died in past wars and conflicts are buried.


It is said that more than 25,000 LED lights are used to light up the Korean National Flag for the light show. It's a special celebration for Koreans, and if you're in Korea make sure to stop by and check out the pretty light show.
