Age of Female Artists, Sweeping the Music Charts
Lots of online music websites are experiencing the strength of female artists. In the top 10 song list for the week, 7 or 8 of them are either from solo female artist or a girl group.
According to the music website “Monkey”s list of top songs for the first week of February, number 1 went to Kim Bum Soo and SNSD Taeyeon’s duet song. Navi’s “Well Done” took second place.
G.NA’s “Black and White” took 4th place, and Secret’s “Shy Boy” took 5th.
IU’s “Good Day” is at 7th now and 9th went to Jewelry’s “Back it Up.” Counting Taeyeon and Sistar’s featurings, nine of the top 10 songs are that of female artists.
Other sites had barely any difference in the rankings. Apart from JYP’s “I couldn’t forget” and Hyun Bin’s “That Man,” IU, Secret, Kim Bo Kyung, Sunye, Seeya and so on were all on the top list.
Monkey’s staff said “It’s becoming more obvious to see the female artists’s fame. Artists like Navi, Suzy, G.NA, IU are constantly at the top of the lists and still going strong.”
