BIGBANG – MADE Series 'E'

For the last four months,Big Banghas been releasing single albums, which together complete the album'MADE.' For their final pair of singles from this album, Big Bang has released "Zutter" and "Let's Not Fall in Love." "Zutter" is listed under theGD&TOPsubunit.

Track List:

1. Zutter
2. Let's Not Fall In Love

BIG BANG - "ZUTTER"

As you may know from my reviews by now, I'm a big fan of Korean EDM, hip-hop, etc. I thinkTiger JKis a genius and enjoy just about everything exceptEpik High.

"Zutter" is one of the songs that I do not enjoy. Despite the fact that it's burning up the charts, it's really, really repetitive. And not in a good way. Now, I considerGDandT.O.Pto be some of the funniest members ofBig Bang. But here, their delivery falls flat. For those who don't know, the title means"It's awesome/the$#!T." The lyrics are kind of humorous (though I could do without the scatological references). The tune is monotone and fails to keep my interest. The best thing I can say about it is that it ends.

MV REVIEW - "ZUTTER"

T.O.PandG-Dragonhave set themselves up as swindlers in "Zutter."

Enjoy a look into the cinematic underworld as the pair oftazzas("swindlers") urinate, gamble, and cavort their way through South Korea's seedy underbelly. They run into trouble, gamble, slaughter pigs, and dance. If you think that it doesn't make a lot of sense, it doesn't.

The dancing (what there is of it) is positioned more as humorous than anything else, the moves take place in a grimy basement and on bar counter tops and are at least snicker-worthy.

The wardrobe is fairly diverse. There's at least seven costume changes, all variations on either track suits, casual wear, and business suits. Fairly normal attire -- no eyeballs on shirts here.

The MV is primarily shot in dim, muted colors, most likely a tip of the hat to the nefarious activities being filmed. It's okay, but there seems to be a lot of urination going on. I'm not sure if they're saying "pee on the underworld" in this thing or not. But if I wanted to see that, I'd be hanging out in bathrooms.

BIG BANG - "LET'S NOT FALL IN LOVE"

Now this song is a solid soft rock tune. It's got a electric guitar being strummed behind it keeping the melody, and each of the members ofBig Banghas a part describing how he feels nervous about changing the nature of the relationship, even though he likes the girl. Of course, the girl doesn't like it and has a tiny part where she says,"You're always like that. Selfish bastard."It has some similarities to "Sober," except that it's not played for laughs and is more evenly sung. The boys sound glum here, but it's appropriate to the song.

MV REVIEW - "LET'S NOT FALL IN LOVE"

The boys get with their girls in the MV for "Let's Not Fall in Love!"

G-Dragon,T.O.P,Seungriand company are wistful boyfriends inBig Bang's newest MV. They are seen in various scenes, each with a different girl, remembering happy times. Sometimes glum, other times happy and frolicking, the boys ofBigBangmake their way through what is almost made to look like a home video.

The dancing is pretty well non-existent. This is a drama piece, and any synchronized dance sequences would pull you out of the world they're portraying here.

This MV is far and away more interesting than "Zutter." While not amazing in scope, at least we have pretty girls to look at, and the boys seem a bit more subdued than in their previous videos. It's fairly convincing for all that, the facial expressions of the band members doing much to convey the story. On it's own, though, it's not a great video, though it is pretty well tied to the song.
