Apink stays modest ahead of awards

Prior to the 2015 Golden Disc Awards, which will be held in Beijing next month, Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily, will introduce girl and boy groups who have been nominated for the grand prizes.

Of the many K-pop acts who will compete for the grand prize, the competition is heating up for girl group Apink, which is known for its innocent image.

Having started out in 2011, Apink did not stand out to the public upon its debut, but the six-member girl group has been climbing the ladder ever since, releasing mini-albums one right after the other.

Apink has settled as a mainstay in music this year with the release of "Mr. Chu".

But the girl group is still modest.

During a recent interview with Ilgan Sports, all the members of Apink described themselves as "a hardworking girl group that has been in the music scene for four years".

"I still remember the day when we released 'Mr. Chu', but we're already preparing for year-end events", saidJung Eun-ji.

"This year was special for me because I felt like I've achieved a lot", she added.

Park Cho-rongalso said, "I always tell myself that this could be the last performance for me. By thinking that way, I try to be modest".
