Autumn Arrives with a Vengeance

Chilly weather continued on Monday after autumn arrived with a vengeance over the weekend, heralded by last week's devastating typhoon.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the mercury dropped to the lowest this fall across the country on Sunday, with the morning low at 3.4 degrees Celsius in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province and 6.5 degrees in Seoul.

Frost was spotted in mountainous parts of Gangwon Province for the first time this year. Winds got weaker on Monday but the weather stayed chilly, with the morning low in Seoul dropping to 7 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to rise gradually from Tuesday and return to normal after the middle of the week.
