BLACKPINK’s “BOOMBAYAH” Becomes Their 3rd MV To Reach 450 Million Views

BLACKPINK has achieved another YouTube milestone!

On December 27 at approximately 4:40 p.m. KST, their music video for “BOOMBAYAH” surpassed 450 million views. This is about two years, four months, and 19 days since the release on August 8, 2016 at 8 p.m. KST.“BOOMBAYAH” is BLACKPINK’s third music video to achieve this feat following “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “As If It’s Your Last.” With BTS’s “DNA” and “Fire,” there are currently only five K-pop group music videos with over 450 million views.

Black Pink (Hangul: 블랙핑크), stylized as BLACKPINK or BLΛƆKPIИK, is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment, consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé.

The group debuted on August 8, 2016, with their single Square One, which spawned "Whistle," their first number-one song in South Korea. The single also included "Boombayah," their first number one on Billboard World Digital Songs chart, which set the record as the most-viewed debut music video by a Korean act. With the group's commercial success in their first five months, they were hailed as the New Artist of the Year at the 31st Golden Disc Awards and the 26th Seoul Music Awards.
