BTS Becomes First Korean Artist To Enter Year-End Billboard 200 Albums And Artists Charts

BTS is making history once again on Billboard! The group is now the first Korean artist to land spots on the year-end Billboard 200 Albums and Top Billboard 200 Artists charts.

On December 4, Billboard released its year-end charts for 2018. BTS makes their debut on the year-end chart for Billboard 200 Albums, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States.

Three of their releases have earned spots on the chart, with “Love Yourself: Answer” taking No. 85, “Love Yourself: Tear” in No. 101, and “Love Yourself: Her” in No. 150. Earlier this year, both “Love Yourself: Answer” and “Love Yourself: Tear” debuted on the weekly Billboard 200 chart at No. 1.

On the Top Billboard 200 Artists year-end chart, BTS takes No. 21.

Meanwhile, the overall year-end Top Artists chart ranks artists based on their performance on the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200, and Social 50 charts, and also Boxscore touring revenue. BTS is at No. 8 this year, with the group rising from their No. 10 spot in 2017.

BTS comes in No. 2 on the year-end Top Artists — Duo/Group chart, as they did last year. For 2018, Imagine Dragons is at No. 1.

On the year-end Independent Albums chart, BTS’s “Love Yourself: Tear” comes in No. 3, “Love Yourself: Answer” in No. 4, and “Love Yourself: Her” in No. 9. BTS grabs the first place spot on the Independent Artists chart for 2018. The Independent Albums chart ranks top-selling albums across all genres that are sold via independent distribution, and it includes sales fulfilled via major branch distributors.

BTS has reigned over the Social 50 chart in first place for 103 weeks in total, and they naturally take No. 1 on the year-end Social 50 chart for 2018.

The year-end World Albums chart also features BTS in the top three spots, with “Love Yourself: Tear” in No. 1, “Love Yourself: Answer” in No. 2, and “Love Yourself: Her” in No. 3.

J-Hope’s mixtape “Hope World” grabs No. 5 on the World Albums chart, and RM’s playlist “mono.” takes No. 9. BTS’s Japanese album “Face Yourself” comes in No. 13.

On the World Album Artists chart for 2018, BTS is at No. 1.

In addition, Steve Aoki’s track “Waste It on Me” featuring BTS lands No. 68 on the year-end Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, and No. 38 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart.
