BTS Takes 1st Place On TIME Magazine’s 2018 Person Of The Year Reader Poll

BTS has won the online reader’s poll for TIME Magazine’s 2018 Person of the Year!

It was first announced in November that BTS had been included on the list of potential nominees. TIME Magazine then held the poll to help determine the most influential person or people of the year, and voting ended on December 6 (local time). According to the results, BTS came in first place with a total of 9 percent.

Planet Earth came in second place, trailing at a difference of 0.12 percent, and was followed by the Thai cave divers in third place and South Korean president Moon Jae In in fourth place. Other notable figures who received votes on the poll included undocumented children, Michelle Obama, Mohammed bin Salman, Jair Bolsonaro, Christine Blasey Ford, and Robert Mueller.

TIME Magazine has been selecting a person or group of people for their Person of the Year title every year since 1927. The title is given to the person who has had the most influence on the world in the past year. The final decision is made by the editors of TIME Magazine, who take into consideration a wide variety of factors, and the poll provides them with insight on who readers believe is deserving of the title.
