BTS’s “Fake Love” Overtakes “Gangnam Style” To Become Most-Streamed Song By Korean Artist On Spotify

BTS has set a new record on Spotify!

According to a new report by Forbes, BTS’s “Fake Love” is now officially the most-streamed song by any Korean artist on Spotify. Last week, the song overtook PSY’s viral 2012 hit “Gangnam Style” to achieve the most streams of any Korean song available on the digital music service.

As of December 31, 2018, “Fake Love” had reached an impressive total of over 184 million streams on Spotify, while “Gangnam Style” had over 183 million streams. BTS’s “DNA” trailed at a close third with over 181 million streams.

Spotify also announced last month that BTS was the second most-streamed group of 2018, beating out Maroon 5, Migos, and Coldplay (at No. 3, 4, and 5 respectively) to take the second-highest total number of streams for the year behind Imagine Dragons.

Meanwhile, in November, BTS became the first Korean artist to surpass 1 billion streams on Apple Music.
