[ASKKPOP] Big Bang attract the 2nd most concertgoers in Japan, #1 among K-Pop artists

On November 7, Japanese magazineNikkei Entertainmentreleased a list of the 'Top 50 Artists with the Largest Audiences for their concerts in 2014'.Big Bangwas second overall on the list, with an impressive audience count of 927,000 people.



This audience number includes Big Bang's six dome tour'Big Bang Japan Dome Tour 2013-2014', their February 4 event during which they held 14 live performances, as well as their upcoming five dome tour'Big Bang Japan Dome Tour 2014-2015 X', for a total of 29 concerts.


First place on the list was given to none other than popular Japanese groupEXILE, who collected 1.05 million audience members with 31 concerts.Arashitook third place with 894,000. Meanwhile,TVXQwas second place among K-Pop artists with 700,000 audience members, followed byEXO,Girls' Generation, andSHINee.


Representatives fromYG Entertainmentcommented, "This is proof that Big Bang has great interest among the artists in Japan and have great, competitive ticket power and status." They continued, "Among those who have done solo activities in Japan, Big Bang memberDaesunghad a total of 169,000 audience members for 15 concerts during his solo arena tour this year; [if you include that number] Big Bang has gathered 1,096,000 audience members."


If you addedDaesung's 15 solo Japanese concerts to the total gross, it would amount to around 110 billion won ($101 million USD).


In other news, Big Bang will be launching their five dome tour in Nagoya on November 15. They will be hosting 15 concerts in five different cities, and are expecting to attract an audience of around 741,000.
