Big Bang may not enlist until 2018?

Big Bang's newfound role as 'Creative Icons' for South Korea's new slogan 'Creative Nation' may affect the group's military enlistment plans.

As the nation's 'Creative Icons', Big Bang will be charged with representing Korea during the 'PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics'. However, T.O.P, currently 28 years old in Korean age, must enlist before the age of 30 to abide by military regulations. G-Dragon and Taeyang will also need to enlist by the year 2018, for similar reasons. If these enlistment requirements hold, Big Bang will not be able to promote during the 'PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics' as an entire group.

South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism addressed the issue by stating, "Even if some of the members will be absent carrying out their military service duties, we plan on continuing promotions centered around the remaining members."

YG Entertainment likewise issued, "It is true Big Bang's enlistment is approaching. If they are unable to promote during that period, then they will most likely maintain their roles with photos, videos, and other media resources."

The military has been known to make exemptions for special cases in which those already serving the nation in a different form may be allowed a delay of one year. However, this exemption has yet confirmed, and remains a speculation for Big Bang.
