Big Hit Entertainment's official statement:

Hello, this is BTS' agency Big Hit Entertainment.
We sincerely apologize for concerning fans from the '2016 BTS Season Greeting DVD making video'. We will do everything we can do to stop oppressive action so that Big Hit Entertainment artists can expand their capability and talent to their heart's content.
We take full responsibility for the action that created this problem and for not filtering such parts from the video, which is meaningful to fans.
The manager himself admitted that he was at fault, and because of this, he will be dismissed from his staff position and we will ask the higher-ups about management responsibilities.
The company will internally tighten its system so that this kind of thing doesn't happen again. On top of this, we will check all of the similar cases that have been rediscovered online. In addition, in the future if such an incident occurs again, we will take strong measures against the staff without question.

We consider this as a very serious problem that has shaken the principles of the agency Big Hit Entertainment.
Also, we are also very sorry that this problem did not first become an issue internally.
We look at this with a hurt heart as we might have overlooked the reason we do this work because of [other] goals. Our most important principle is 'respect and trust our artists', and this issue has give us the opportunity to be more firm on this stance.
We apologize once again to the fans who have loved BTS.
