'Birdman' responds to backlash from Koreans for 'kimchi' comment

Thebacklash from netizensoffended byEmma Stone's "It all smells like f*cking kimchi" line in movie 'Birdman' has reached Hollywood... which some may consider a facepalm moment.

TV Reportwent so far as to contact the reps of 'Birdman,' who replied with,"The audience members who saw the movie during the media premiere and general premiere did not mention at all the line in question.  When you see the movie as a whole, that scene is not important.

Of course, it could be an unpleasant incident from a Korean's point of view to see the word 'kimchi' used, but it was a cinematic device to show how crazy the characters in 'Birdman' are.  It's a scene with an intention that viewers who personally saw the movie could understand.  It was a means to explain the immense temperamental and angry state of Emma Stone within the production, so there was no intention whatsoever to belittle Koreans."

The movie will open in Korea in March as a matter of fact, so people can hopefully go to theaters and see for themselves.
