City Hunter Episode 2

"I'm just a guy who hates to see kids starving. I don't see the reason for them to starve when the citizens are paying tax!"

Hi everyone! Sorry for going out of order. I wanted to do episodes 3 and 4 on the day it was out. So here goes episode 2 recap.

Episode 2:

The first episode ended with Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) arriving at Korea. Episode 3 rewinds a bit. After Yoon Sung hears about the truth behind his birth, he determines to change.

Yoon Sung starts training harder. He is determined to reach his goal: kill the 5 men who chose to abandon their men. At the end of his training, Jin Pyo's (Kim Sang Joon) drug trafficking business grows and becomes a druglord. I think he still lives in Vietnam. They now live in a mansion guarded by armed troops. Gold bullions come in boxes. This shows their wealth.

In the gigantic mansion guarded by armed troops, Jin Pyo walks to Yoon Sung with his acceptance letter. Yoon Sung is accepted by the M.I.T. He has a new passport with fake identity. He comments that Jin Pyo did identity laundry on him. Jin Pyo says that he will be to changing his character. By the way, Jin Pyo now has to use a cane, because he has a prosthetic leg. 

Jin Pyo gives 3 advices:

1. Hide your identity at all costs.

2. Do not trust anyone.

3. Do not love anyone.

"As soons as your cover blows," adds Jin Pyo. "Everyone around you will shed blood."

7 years later... 

Yoon Sung arrives in Korea. He looks around, he has been homesick of his motherland. Behind him stands Na Na (Park Min Young), she is handing out fliers. It's a part-time job. She has a reason for doing a lot of part-time jobs.

Na Na receives a phone call and she rushes to hospital immediately. She finds out that her father's condition is getting worse. He not has pneumonia, and the doctor recommends that she lets him go. Na Na insists that she will take care of payments. The doctor insists back that she lets him go; he's been a vegetable for 10 years. Na Na cries to the doctor that he saves her father. The doctor looks away in pity. 

The scene changes to Na Na doing more part-time jobs. They call these jobs in Korea alba. The word comes from German word albeit: work. In Korea the alba refers to the jobs that you do before you get a career. So part time jobs that young people do in Korea are called alba. 

In the club, Yoon Sung is talking on the phone. He talks about someone. He says that he has found out that this person does a lot of part-time jobs. She usually works as driver at night. It's a substitute driver. People in Korea call these Dae Ri (substitute) to drive their car when they are drunk. There are some Dar Ri's available in L.A. area, but it's costly.

Yoon Sung goes out of the club with his date. He has called a Dae Ri because he's drunk, and it's Na Na. He looks at Na Na for a minute. Did he call her on purpose? The person he was talking about is obviously Na Na. So Yoon Sung is trying to get close with Na Na I think. After all, he has been looking and talking to the picture of her for the last 7 years. He darkens his face and says in business tone:

"You're the Bullet Dae Ri right?" 

He asks her to take them to a hotel. That moment Kim Young Joo comes out of the club and starts talking to Yoon Sung's date. He tries to pull her out of the car. Na Na can't stand this. Young Joo sort of recognizes Na Na. He says that he's not the kind of person she thinks he is. Young Joo tries to pull out the date again, and Na Na throws him using her Judo move. Young Joo is slammed on the ground, Na Na drives away in the Masseratti.

A man walks out calling Young Joo "Attorney Kim."  He chews out his subordinate for picking such clothes for under cover. Apparently, Young Joo wanted the girl because she is the mistress of Lee Kyoung Wan.

Na Na can't stand at Yoon Sung and his date making out at the back of the car. She stops the car, and tells them to get to hotel on their own. Na Na demands that he pays $10 for coming half way. Yoon Sung refuses, but Na Na pulls out his wallet and steals $10. 

Yoon Sung questions his date about her sponsor. She talks about him taking money from someone. Yoon Sung tries to get more information out of her. It's clear that he is using her as intel. He even has recording device installed under the table. At the critical moment, the front desk calls in. Na Na left her phone in the car, and she asks Yoon Sung if he can just open the door. Yoon Sung just hangs up. Na Na starts kicking the car as the last resort. The alarm rings, and Yoon Sung comes out. He is frustrated because he was about to get important information out of his intel. He just finds out that Lee Kyoung Wan write everything on a ledger. Na Na is already gone, but Yoon Sung sees where the phone call is coming from.

Na Na is beggin the doctor to do a surgery. She begs that there are cases of people that woke up from 17 years of coma. The doctor shows sympathy but doesn't look convinced. 

That moment, Yoon Sung tells him to do the surgery. He has already paid for it. Na Na thanks him, and says that she wants to pay him back. Yoon Sung refuses.

"That money is just chip change for me." says Yoon Sung. "I'll just think of it as donation to the poor."

Na Na says that she will pay him back anyways. 

Na Na got the job as the Blue House body guard. When she is at the orientation, Yoon Sung walks up. He calls Na Na, "Ten bucks?"

Na Na pretends that she doesn't know him. Yoon Sung is Doctor Lee who just started to work for the Blue House as the information security analyst. 

Na Na and other new femail recruit are told that they won't be going to the camp. Instead, they will start immediately on supervising the President's daughter.

The security team and Internet security team have their Judo drills. There's been competition going on. And yeah, the computer nerds never won against the bodyguards. Na Na throws Yoon Sung until he tells her his account number. 

Yoon Sung takes a shower. He thinks back at Na Na crying for her father. Yes, from this scene, we can know for sure that Yoon Sung knew who Na Na was. He got cloes to her on purpose. So if Sik Joon wasn't Na Na's father, how are they related? Yoon Sung makes a deal that she will just have to work as Dae Ri 100 times to make up for $5000.

The President calls in to see the new recruits : Yoon Sung, Na Na, and the other girl.

They are all introduced the President's daughter ( Goo Ha Ra)

The daughter checks Yoon Sung out. She winks at him, but he only smirks. Humiliation!

The First Lady warns the bodyguards about her daughter's personality. Surely enough, she asks for tutoring from Yoon Sung. Yoon Sung just ignores her and leaves. She is humilated once more. 

She acts like a brat to the bodyguards.

Yoon Sung reports about Lee Kyoung Wan to Jin Pyo. Lee Kyoung Wan is a senate, and he is a corrupt one. The reason Senator Lee is the first target is because the other 4 are not known. The other 4 will be found after they make their moves on Senator Lee.

Attorney Kim's target is Senator Lee too. Lee's secretary is questioned at his office. They try to request for warrant, but his superior interrupts midway. Lee is very powerful and the superior D.A. does not want to touch him.

Yoon Sung breaks into Lee's house to bug his phone. Kim Young Joo is at Lee's place. They are talking about how Lee's father is friends with him. Young Joo's father is also one of the 5-member council. 

The President's daughter is a college prep student. She didn't do too well last year onher exams. She has to retake them to get into college that she likes. After school, she takes her body guards to a club. 

She is dancing on the floor and the body guards just watching her over. In the same club, Yoon Sung and Senator Lee's Mistress are talking. She tells Yoon Sung that she broke up with Senator Lee. Yoon Sung no longer has use for her and dumps are right away. His excuse: "Now that you look like you're not popular to guys, it's kind of turning off".

Yoon Sung walks out of the room and finds Na Na. He grabs her and kisses her. The main chracters have their first kiss on episode 2. That was kind of fast. Yoon Sung's date slaps him for cheating. Yoon Sung hands her a $1000 check. Na Na then throws him on the ground. 

Na Na loses Da Hye (the daughter) and looks for her. Young Joo helps her to find her. 

Da Hye is caught. She is so cute!

Na Na thanks Young Joo for helping her. She tells him that Yoon Sung may know who she is looking for. 

Young Joo asks Yoon Sung about Senator Lee's mistress. Yoon Sung says that he can't remember all of his one-night-stands. Young Joo is frustrated but he cannot do anything.

Na Na sprained her ankle while doing Judo with Yoon Sung. Young Joo asks if he could give her a ride. Yoon Sung drives up in his car and tells her to get in. Bad guys over nice ones right?

Yoon Sung and Na Na find two brother and sister that Na Na knows. The nurses chses them and says that they shouldn't eat flour because they are allergic to them. The kids are neighbors of Na Na. The nurse tells her that they are listed as social welfare recipients. Na Na wonders why, because they are not.

Senator Lee talks to a guy who works at social welfare office. He warns him about upcoming supervision. The guy needs Senator Lee's help. Senator Lee says that he knows what he wants, and he should get to it. Something dirty is going on obviously.

Yoon Sung visits Na Na's place. He finds that she has lost both of her parents from accident 10 years ago. She has a bunch of stickers on her furnitures. They are repo stickers banks put. That moment the boy they saw at the hospital runs in. He yells, "My sister is not breathing!"

They take the girl to ER. She has allergy shock, but she will be OK. They ate food with flour, because they didn't have money for rice. Na Na yells at her saying why she couldn't get food stamps. The kids cries that she rather eat bread and ramen than be called hobos by other kids.

They both go to social welfare office. Na Na wants to list them in social welfare, but it says they are already listed. What? They couldn't have been starving if they had received money. They call the person in charge, but he acts like he doesn't know anything. Yeah right? he was in the car with Senator Lee! He lies that kids probably sold their social welfare check, so that he could go to arcade. Yoon Sung is furious. 

"Hey you!," says Yoon Sung. "Would you rather starve or play games?"

"Who the heck are you?" asks the social-welfare-office-guy

"Me?" answers Yoon Sung. "I'm just a guy who hates to see kids starving. I don't see the reason for them to starve when the citizens are paying tax!"

Things get how, and Na Na brings Yoon Sung outside. On the way out Yoon Sung checks out the camera locations. He turns around and see the corrupt employee shredding related documents to hide his embezzlement.
