Clara apologizes for her recipe controversy on 'Happy Together 3'

On a recent episode ofKBS 2TV's 'Happy Together 3', the guests brought on the recipes of their favorite nighttime snacks, a tradition like on every other episode.

The nighttime snack corner of the variety show has always attracted various recipes, ranging from ones that are newly developed, old menus with a new twist, or just desserts that stars saw in foreign countries that weren't well-known in Korea.

Clara brought a recipe onto the show that might have been familiar to many international watchers - pasta where she pushed the noodles into pieces of sausages and cooked it whole. The recipe has already been popularized online, but for many Korean viewers, it was their first time seeing the recipe. When she was asked about the recipe, while Clara didn't explicitly say it was her own, she implied that she had thought of it herself, saying, "I thought it'd be fun if I put pasta in the sausages", and "I think food tastes good when it looks good, too. The sausages' get less oily as you boil it, so it tastes good". From her comments, most viewers had surmised that it was Clara's own own recipe.

However, for the viewers who were already familiar with the recipe (it was once broadcast on another Korean variety show), voiced their displeasure of the recipe being broadcast like it was her own original idea. When the information spread, many viewers were surprised that it was actually not Clara's own, and they demanded to know why Clara had acted like it was her idea.

Clara's label said, "The sausage pasta is a midnight snack that Clara used to make all the time with an unni she used to know. Since the program introduces midnight snacks people usually eat, Clara prepared the menu thinking that it'd be fun to show what she usually made."

However, viewers pointed out that Clara didn't seem to be familiar with the recipe at all, as she didn't even know how long she was supposed to cook the pasta-sausage combination.

KBS also said, "The segment is for celebrities to introduce what they like making. There's no rule that they have to bring their unique creations. Because some celebrities have brought out their own creations to the set, we think that image got solidified for that segment. However, the segment's original goal is not a creation battle. We've confirmed that Clara had no intentions to steal the recipe. As you can see from broadcast, she never said that it was a recipe she created herself. The mood of the filming was great, too. We're sad that this kind of misunderstanding happened."

Clara herselftweeted, "I'm sorry. I have nothing to say to make excuses for myself. I'm still very lacking. It's my fault that came from my own greed. Please be understanding and forgive me. I'm sincerely thankful because you give me so much attention, even though I'm so lacking in many ways."
