Comedian Song In Hwa sentenced to 6 months' jail + 2 years' suspended sentence for marijuana use
ComedianSong In Hwahas been sentenced by the South Korean courts for her use of marijuana.
The sentencing, which gives her six months in prison as well as two years of a suspended sentence, comes after she was found guilty for using marijuana two times - once in a hotel room in Las Vegas and again last July with her older sister.
The sister was also convicted, receiving a harsher sentence in the form of 2 years of prison and three years of suspended sentence.
"Marijuana use by a celebrity is not a light crime given its bad influence on society, but considering the defense's recognition of the crime, her reflection, and the fact that it was only two times, we gave her a suspended sentence,"the court ruled.
Song In Hwa has appeared in numerous drama and comedy programs, includingSBS's'It's Okay, Daddy's Girl'and'Gag Concert'.
