Contemporary art aficionados have a treat coming up in November of this year. The National Museum of Contemporary Art (NMOCA) announced that its long-awaited Seoul branch, called UUL, willopenin Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu. This neighborhood has a thriving art scene that is home to many galleries like the Kumho Museum of Art.

The sprawling 38,605.79 square meter UUL National Art Museum is expected to become a heavyweight in the Seoul art world. The name UUL is actually anacronymcombining the Korean words for "we" and "fence". According to NMOCA, the museum's concept touches on the idea that the museum is always with the people. It also refers to the idea that it's an open venue for arts andcultureinstead of a closed, fenced-in space.

Five new exhibitions are expected to kick off UUl's opening. We're especially looking forward to the Do Ho Suh exhibition. Do Ho Suh is a fascinating and globally recognized Korean artist who's known for his sculptures and larger-than-life installations. Take a look at the kind of art he creates below.
