Critic Heo Ji Woong comments on Psy's 'Daddy' being named one of 'TIME's 'worst songs'

Pop culture criticHeo Ji Woonggave his two cents onPsy's addictive song "Daddy," which has been drawing much hype both domestically and abroad, on the December 9 airing of 'One Night of TV Entertainment.'

Heo Ji Woong andMC Kim Tae Hoonwere discussing how Psy's new chart-topping single had placed fourth onTIME's 'Top Ten Worst Songs' list. TIME had written that "Daddy" is a "generic dance song with uninspired lyrics," opining that there isn't much merit behind it.

While Heo Ji Woong didn't outright agree with this statement, he did express that the reporters in Korea seem to be too concerned with what Western media has to say about "Daddy," rather than focusing on its musical quality. He quipped, "Why [do these reporters] worry about Psy so much? I wish they would stop asking foreign stars whether they know Psy or not," and added, "Psy should stop pretending to be the honorary ambassador of Korea. [That way] he can just stick to the music he's comfortable doing."
