THE GIRL WHO CAN SEE SMELLS - EPISODE 8

The killer lurks...

So we get a little more action, suspense, and a whole lot more of our sensory couple. And yaaay! It's official -- they're nowactuallya couple! So, looking back:

Cho Rimremembers a face, not knowing it is her mother. After comfortingCho Rim,Moo Gaktries and fails to create a sketch of the face at the police station. Later, the cops set a trap forChef Kwon, who continually eludes them in their game of cat and mouse.Cho Rimgets a chance to be onChef Kwon's TV show, much toMoo Gak's annoyance, as he is concerned for her safety. She is irritated by his interference; it's inappropriate since he's not her boyfriend, even though she wants him to be. Over drinks,Lt. Yeom MihelpsCho Rimwith relationship advice and with the composite sketch. After her audition,Moo Gakfinally, clumsily reaches out toCho Rimand the ship becomes canon. Later, burning the midnight oil with the composite sketch,Lt. Yeom Mifigures out thatCho Rimis really the daughter of the murdered diver couple in Jeju Island, and the only witness to their murder...

Installing a spy app on Moo Gak's phone.

I think they've settled into a more comfortable pace. And I see how they're going to maintain tension. They'll reveal things aboutChef Kwonone at a time before he finally gets caught. Thing is, he's as slippery as an eel, outfoxing the cops at every turn. I was getting a little concerned when they got the DNA evidence as he appears to be the main baddie, but he turned the tables on them and used his decoy instead.

This time they didn't spend their time solving another, smaller crime. While I think it turns down the heat some, it also leaves more room for tracking down the real killer and learning more about our two main characters. I've been kinda hoping to see more ofMoo Gak's home life and friends -- I'm a sucker for a good bromance. Or is it that people give him a wide berth knowing he's a cop?

Inflicting a wound to throw off the police...

And they finally, finally did it! They gotCho RimandMoo Gaktogether! I kept wanting it to happening, knowing that it would, but at the same time fearing that it wouldn't! Not every K-drama has a happy ending. But they spend so much time together, and they share so many cute and tender moments, more than even regular K-drama characters have. It seems genuine, rather than forced. Now I can't wait to see what they do on an actual date. :) Yes, I'm excited over a TV romance. Shoot me now. ;)

Although there is some concern about what will happen when he finds out that his sister had died in his new girlfriend's stead... I guess that's where more drama will happen!

Holding hands in the park

The only quibble I have is that we seeCho Rimuse her powers less and less. I happen to like spiffy special effects, so I'd like to see a little bit of it here and there, even if isn't a major plot point. Still, I can't wait for the next one!
