[ASKKPOP] H.O.T's Lee Jae Won assures fans he's fine after the belated news of his early stage thyroid cancer diagnosis

Reports started to spread that '90s idol groupH.O.T'sLee Jae Wonhad been diagnosed with malignant or cancerous thyroid tumors last year, worrying the public and fans who were shocked to hear the news. However, Lee Jae Won spoke to the media to address the reports himself and assure everyone that he is now healthy and recovered.



Lee Jae Won toldStar Newswhile only his way back to Korea from China,"I received the diagnosis of thyroid cancer last year in April. However, it was in the early stages. That year in July and August I received surgery and now I'm completely recovered... I'm currently working hard on broadcast in China in a healthy condition, I even recently participated in the filming of a Chinese variety show."


When asked if the previous talks about H.O.T's reunion did not come through due to his health, Lee Jae Won responded,"Although there were talks about H.O.T reuniting at an awards ceremony last year, it never happened... It didn't happen for a variety of reasons, it's not because of my health."


He once again assured fans that he is fine by saying,"I'm now healthy and promoting well, so please keep cheering me on."
