High school girls' vicious attack captured on CCTV

A female high school student, who was one of the assailants in a case of gang violence, escaped a legal penalty due to her underage status. 

Incheon District Courtrevealed on December 21 that they have decided to send 18-year-old 'A' to juvenile court instead of sentencing her with a criminal penalty. For her two other accomplices, including a 22-year-old identified as 'B', the courts sentenced to 6~10 months of prison time and a probational period of two years. 

'A' and her accomplices had been on their way home in a taxi around 5:05 a.m. this past September 12 in Incheon's Bupyeong District. The three had been drinking, and when they spotted 25-year-old 'C' and his 21-year-old girlfriend, they began verbally abusing them and are suspected of assaulting the couple. 'C' and his girlfriend ended up with broken ribs and noses, injuries which had required for them to received five and three weeks of treatment respectively. 

The court stated regarding 'A's two accomplices, "The defendants took advantage of their strength in numbers to use violence [against the victims]. Their liability is great considering the degree of injuries the victims suffered. We took into account the monetary amount the defendants' families provided for [the victims'] recovery and also the fact that they have no criminal history outside of their probation." 

However, 'A' was let off light as she is still a minor. 'A's case was remanded to juvenile court where she was tried again and received a lighter sentence of being placed under supervision. 

An Incheon District Court rep revealed, "'A's trial was held privately, and in accordance to the relevant laws, we can't reveal the [court's] decision." 

When the group violence first came to light, 'A', despite being a minor, was arrested. At the time of her arrest, authorities had stated that she was only arrested for fear that she may try to make a run for it.
