Huh Jung's 'Hide and Seek' to open London Korean film fest

"Hide and Seek", a thriller by directorHuh Jung, will open the London Korean Film Festival, which takes place from Nov. 7 to 11 in Leicester Square, London.

As the world's largest Korean film festival outside of Korea, it will present films in six theaters, including Odeon West End theater, where world premieres often take place.

In its eighth year, the festival is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and supported by the Korean Film Council.

It garnered worldwide attention when Hollywood celebrities such as Bruce Willis and John Malkovich took part last year.

Forty-three films will be shown during the festival. The closing film is "Boomerang Family" by directorSong Hae-seong.

A retrospective exhibition of directorKang Woo-seokis part of the festival, following last year's successful exhibition of directorIm Kwon-taek, best known for "The Taebaek Mountains". The festival will run six of Kang's films, including his latest, "Fist of Legend" and hits like"Hanbando", "Silmido" and"Public Enemy".

Along with the directors, actressYoon Yeo-jeong, actorsYoon Je-moon,Park Hae-ilandSeol Kyeong-guwill take part in the festival to introduce Korean films.

The London Korean Film Festival aims to encourage local film distributors to import and screen Korean films through constant and full support.

After screenings in London, it will go on tour to Oxford, Bradford and St. Andrews in Scotland.
