JYP, SM, and YG Entertainment will not be sending any trainees to 'Produce 101' season 2
It appears no trainees from the 3 major agencies,JYP, SM,andYGwill be present in the male component ofMnet's'Produce 101.'

According to a representative on January 17, JYP had sent a trainee on last year's show of 'Produce 101', however, things will change this year as they have no plans to participate in the second season.

With the first season coming to a close, the producers began working on the male edition for the second season and revealed the launch last October.

But there seems to be some difficulty in recruiting new members.  With the announcement of the Big 3 JYP, SM, and YG Entertainment declining the offer,Cube,Big Hit, andWoolim Entertainmentalso will not be sending any trainees this time.

The 3 major agencies claimed their production system is currently going strong and feel it's not necessary to compete with other agencies."Although smaller agencies may take the advantage of promoting their names, there already have been many cases as such did not have any intentions to willingly appear on the show."

An Mnet spokesperson stated that they are still searching for an MC for the show afterJang Geun Sukdeclineddue to his busy schedule.

Despite the setbacks, the second season of 'Producer 101' is still on schedule to air during the second half of the year.
