[ASKKPOP] Jang Hyun Sung talks about how YG Entertainment is different from what he expected

Jang Hyun Sungtalked about how his prejudice towards YG Entertainment was broken once he started working with the agency.

During an interview withNewsenon February, Jang Hyun Sung shared, "Personally, I haven't noticed a big difference in my activities, but my perception of YG has changed.

In the past, I wasn't too fond of the way that the major labels including SM, JYP, YG, and more were the envy of youth. I'm also a father, so I had the prejudice that it was just a place where they take little, young kids and make them practice dancing. But upon entering YG, it was very different from what I expected.

The thing that made me go, 'Look at this,' when I first entered the YG HQ is that the staff's expressions were bright. The YG HQ has a cafeteria in the basement, and the ahjummas who work there have really good expressions, meaning that they don't just like [working there], but love it. If you want to tell how healthy the organization is, look at the employees' expressions.

Contrary to outer appearance, seeing from the inside, I saw how the employees are treated well and that made me feel a lot of things. All of the members including the building maintenance workers, cafeteria ladies, and artists all pride themselves in being a YG member and think of it happily. Upon seeing that, I thought, 'Ah, this seems like a very nice place.'

The best part about YG is that although the cafeteria food is tasty as well, it comes out fast... I'm an ahjusshi style so I don't like eating course meals and waiting a long time. I like that I can get and eat a hearty meal quickly.

When I look at the YG trainees, they have a dream which they're set on at a young age, and they put their all into it. I felt like that image is more innocent. But from a father's perspective, it makes me think a lot of things... If you go to the YG HQ, there are really a lot of trainees who range from very young children to a lot older students. Upon seeing that, my prejudice towards idol trainees and aspiring idols vanished."
