[ASKKPOP] Jun Ji Hyun is under fire for appearing late to press event without apologizing
The incident occurred on February 11 when actress Jun Ji Hyun was scheduled for a photo event as the model for a furniture company. The press began waiting an hour prior to the beginning of the event, but Jun Ji Hyun did not appear for her appointment until thirty minutes later.
When Jun Ji Hyun did appear, Kuki News states that the actress was stunning and elegant and even gave an interview. However, Kuki News's Park and Lee were upset when Jun Ji Hyun neither acknowledged her tardiness nor apologized for it.
Park and Lee continued that the press let the issue slide at first by writing titles as neutral as, "Jun Ji Hyun was late," or as nice as, "Even though she was late, Jun Ji Hyun was pretty." According to Park and Lee, however, reporters then received calls from Jun Ji Hyun's agency saying, "I'm sorry, reporter, but could you take out the vocabulary 'late' from the articles?" Park and Lee felt this was an insulting request to make as it was one that completely disregarded the fact that the agency and Jun Ji Hyun made a mistake by being late in the first place.
Park and Lee continue to compare Jun Ji Hyun's tardy incident to that ofKeanu Reeves, which occurred back on January 8. Park and Lee state that although the Hollywood actor, who was visiting Korea to promote his movie'John Wick,'was also thirty minutes late to his press event, he said directly to the reporters, "I'm very sorry that I'm late. Thank you for waiting for me and participating even though I was late."
Park and Lee argued that although the press understands that Jun Ji Hyun is a busy top star, they wish she had at least apologized like Keanu Reeves.
