[ASKKPOP] K-pop boy groups slay Billboard's 'World Albums' chart

And the new year starts off with K-pop albums from boy groups slaying the charts! On this week ofBillboard's 'World Albums' chart, out of the top 10 spots a total of 6 albums are K-pop!


BTSis at number 1 with their latest album 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.2'. This is the album's fifth straight week on the chart and their second time at number one. That's right, BTS' album debuted at number 1 in the week of December 19 and ranked again in the week of December 26, January 2, 9, and now the 16th.


Billboard points out that this is the very first time a K-pop album has landed on the number 1 spot more than once on this chart.


Not only that, BTS' previous albums 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.1' is at number 4 and 'Dark&Wild' is at number 7.


Going back up a bit,iKON's debut album 'Welcome Back' is impressively at number 2 (up from number 13 last week).Seventeen's 'Boys Be' album is at number 5, andEXO's 'Sing For You' is at number 8!


And for 'World Digital Songs'this week,Psy's two songs are still in the top 3 as "Daddy" has maintained its spot at number 2 and "Gangnam Style" also remained at number 3! These two songs have been in the top 3 for several weeks in a row.
