Kim Jae-won, "'Romance' is a drama with gratefulness"

ActorKim Jae-wonplayed the first bad guy role of his life so we asked him if he would do it again and he shook his hands saying, "No, never again. I can't even call anyone because I'm afraid I might slip and make a mistake". He still has that 'killer smile'.

Kim Jae-wonplayed In-jo in the MBC historical drama"Splendid Politics". It was tough finding the balance between In-jo from history and the drama.

"When I was gathering information about my characters, I don't watch others' videos just in case I follow them. However, this time I watchedLee Deok-hwa's version of In-jo from "Cruel Palace - War of Flowers"".

It was one of the toughest charactersKim Jae-wonhas had to play in his 15 year career. It was his first bad guy role too. "It was tough to be so negative. I have always been in heartwarming stories since my debut".

However, he put himself down for this role and focused on In-jo.

"I couldn't be 'nice' even a little bit. So I decided to let go and just be nasty. I had to makeLee Yeon-heestand out as well".

Therefore, the final scene of In-jo condensed to show to the viewers. The message was, 'there's love deficiency in the base of evil and in the end it's all about love'.

We asked him why he only does heartwarming dramas and he said, "I like it. I like it to be sunny like the weather and it makes you feel good".

Kim Jae-wonrose to stardom after"Romance"and earned the title, 'killer smile'. He hadn't studied acting enough at the time so he wasn't modest nor arrogant. He worked hard to bring warmth to his audience and learned acting in that way. He married and had a child which led him to understand what it's like to be a father.

Still, he says he's not happy with his act. He recalled"Romance"and smiled.

"That was a grateful time. People recognized me not for my name but for my smile. I don't want another nickname to replace 'killer smile'. I like the smile. I also get asked if I'm an 'angel smile'".
