Kiss&Cry's Haena gets eliminated on the first live broadcast of 'Superstar K6' despite positive feedback

Haena, formerly from the talented girl groupKiss&Cry, was eliminated on the first live broadcast ofMnet's 'Superstar K6' despite rave reviews from the judge panel.

Haena, who made it into the Top 11, performed on stage during the season's first live broadcast on the 10th. She especially impressed the judges with her ability to sing so well while dancing to a latin-dance cover ofPark Sung Shin's "Just Once More".

Yoon Jong Shincommented, "Like a former girl group member, you sing well while moving. Honestly, it's not easy for an amateur to dance and sing at the same time for their first stage. You sang accurately in tune as well. If there is one thing that was lacking, then it may be that you sang the song a bit too stiffly to not make a mistake. But it was supposed to be a groovy song."Baek Ji Young, Lee Seung Chul, andKim Bum Soopraised her singing ability and that she has potential to be a major threat for other competitors for the live-broadcast performances down the road.

However, despite receiving a good score and positive feedback from the judges, the lack of text votes sent in during the show ultimately eliminated her along withFoxstar.

With the airing of the episode, netizens have been expressing their great disappointment that a contestant with such solid ability could be eliminated just because of the way the score system is balanced. They question whether if too much emphasis is placed on text votes, which they point out usually favor male contestants as it is usually the female viewers that send in votes.

Meanwhile, as mentioned before, Haena mentioned that Kiss&Cryhad disbanded, which led her to join the show. However, Kiss&Cry's official fancaferevealedthat it has not completely disbanded yet as they're trying to currently work out some internal issues and that Haena had left to audition because her contract expired.
