The play "Educating Rita" is about a hairdresser named Rita who discovers a passion for learning and joins an open university where she meets Frank, a professor who is in the slumps and slowly change each other. The first play started on the 3rd of December and will go on for the next two months.

The play drew in lots of people from the beginning as many fans were excited aboutKong Hyo-jin's new challenge. Tickets sold out quickly. As if to return her love to those who filled in every single seat in the audience,Kong Hyo-jinwas passionate and energetic on stage, mesmerizing everyone for the next 120 minutes.

There were many lines, for sure and there must've been pressure about having lead the entire play in front of all those people, butKong Hyo-jinsuccessfully completed her stage debut. When the audience applauded for her and the curtain-called,Kong Hyo-jinstarted shedding tears of joy and relief. Her tears were tears of mixed feelings as she had spent a long time practicing for the play and she was also disappointed about not havingJeon Moo-song, the actor that plays Frank, on stage with her for health reasons.

Kong Hyo-jin's cast in the play "Educating Rita" was a great topic amongst fans and media. For an actress as successful as stable as her, it was a risky move, attempting at a play that could shake up what she's built so far. That alone would've been great pressure on her. However, she silently did what she had to do and was proud and relieved with herself when she cried on stage.

The actress said, "I am so glad my first stage was without mistakes and I feel so confident as if I can do anything. It's only the first time so I still can't say much.Jo Jae-hyeonsaid if the first play was successful then the second one might not be as much but I'm going to try my best".

"Educating Rita" can be seen at the DCF Vivaldi Park Hall until the 1st of February.
