They announced that they were seeing each other in July of 2015. Rumors spread a couple of times that they had broken up but they denied it.

They met for the first time on the MBC TV show"Radio Star".Jang So-yeonhad confessed, "I have a crush and he knows that I like him. I hope he accepts me. He doesn't like me because I'm too eager".
