Lee Byung-hun Wants to Go Farther with New Hollywood Western

Lee Byung-hun's latest film "The Magnificent Seven", directed by Antoine Fuqua, is set to hit theaters here on Wednesday for the first time in the world.

This is his sixth Hollywood film after "G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra", "G.I Joe: Retaliation", "Red 2", "Terminator Genisys" and "Misconduct".

At a press screening for the film in Seoul on Monday, Lee said "Viewers may care if an actor plays a good guy or a bad guy, but sometimes it is more attractive for actors to play an appealing villain".

He plays a mysterious assassin in the film.

"I feel honored that the director and producers agreed to cast me for the role, which shouldn't necessarily be played by an Asian man", he added. "I hope the movie can help me land new and more challenging roles in the future".

The action blockbuster revolves around seven outlaws in an old west town in 1879 who are hired by a woman seeking revenge for her husband's wrongful death.
