Lee Seung Chul gives out an unusual compliment on 'Superstar K 4'

SingerLee Seung Chul, who is judging forMnet's 'Superstar K 4', is usually known for being harsh on contestants. However, during the most recent episode of the audition program, Lee Seung Chul was completely blown away by a contestant and asked him an unusual question, "What will you do if you become the next Superstar K?"

The contestant was singer-songwriterKim Jung Hwan, who is a student at theBerklee College of Musicand currently serving his mandatory military service in Korea. Not only did he garner attention from the judges for attending the alma mater ofPsy, but also the staff judges during the 1st round auditions called him a 'music genius' for writing songs similar to that of singerJo Gyu Chan.

Soldier Kim Jung Hwan sang two songs - the first being his own song called "2 Years Apart" and finished off withJ.Y.Park's "Honey". "2 Years Apart" is a witty song about waiting for a girl for 2 years while serving in the Korean military. The contestant then performed an acoustic version of "Honey", which highlighted his soulful voice and remarkable guitar skills.

After the performance, Lee Seung Chul asked him, "What will you do if you become the next Superstar K? Do we have to wait until you finish your military service?" This is an unusual compliment coming from the fierce judge and many netizens are anticipating the contestant to possibly become the next Superstar K. Netizens have also discovered that Kim Jung Hwan previously collaborated with rapperDr.Simpsonon a song titled, "Lean On Me", using the stage name 'Eddy-K'.
