SingerLee Seung Chul, who is judging forMnet's 'Superstar K 4', is usually known for being harsh on contestants. The contestant was singer-songwriterKim Jung Hwan, who is a student at theBerklee College of Musicand currently serving his mandatory military service in Korea. Not only did he garner attention from the judges for attending the alma mater ofPsy, but also the staff judges during the 1st round auditions called him a 'music genius' for writing songs similar to that of singerJo Gyu Chan.

Soldier Kim Jung Hwan sang two songs - the first being his own song called "2 Years Apart" and finished off withJ.Y.Park's "Honey". "2 Years Apart" is a witty song about waiting for a girl for 2 years while serving in the Korean military.
