Lie to Me Episode 8

Previously on Lie to Me --

Ki Joon ( Kang Ji Hwan ) got sick from A Jung's ( Yoon Eun Hye ) food. A Jung has been nursing him all night. A Jung says that she didn't call his assistant because she was the one who wanted to take care of him. Ki Joon wants to wake up to go to work, and A Jung stops him. She steals his phone and texts to Hoon: "I'm with a girl. Don't bother me." A Jung then cooks porridge for Ki Joon and goes to work.

A Jung is concerned about Ki Joon being sick at work. She texts to see if his ok. Ki Joon thinks about texting  "I think I'm getting better." We know that he's lying because he's been working out in boredom. He ends up not texting her. She goes to Ki Joon's place during lunch and finds Ki Joon pretty healthy. She asks why Ki Joon didn't answer texts when he is all healthy. Shouldn't he concern about A Jung being worried sick. Well... Ki Joon doesn't feel that it should bother him. It shouldn't but it does.

Ki Joon receives a call that Chairman Chen is leaving Korea. He didn't have enough time to discuss about the contracts.

A Jung comes home and finds Jaebum visiting his father. When Jaebum asks why she is here, A Jung says that she is visiting her father. She pulls the act in front of her father, and he is not confortable with it.

Jaebum feels the awkward atmosphere and leaves. Right when he leaves, the father and daughter have a talk about the scam she is pulling. Jaebum opens the door and says that he left the cell phone. He's probably heard everything.

Ki Joon calls A Jung to come out to do him a favor. It's important. A Jung reluctantly comes out, and she does pretty late. Ki Joon tells A Jung to say her good-bye because she won't be seeing them again. There won't be a need to trying to convince them.

Chairman Chen's wife starts crying. A Jung comforts her by silently hugging her. Chen is impressed and tells Ki Joon to send in the contract. He will accept his proposals.

Ki Joon takes A Jung home and thanks her for service. He tells her that he didn't text her, because she wouldn't come if he texts that he is ok. He didn't want to say that it's bad because she wouldn't have come then. It's pretty obvious that Ki Joon has feelings for her now.

Chairman Hyun is trying to convince Yoon Joo to go outside Korea. Yoon Joo is displeased that she only sides Sanghee. Yoon Joo says that she won't give up Ki Joon this time.

Soran is surprised that A Jung doesn't even know that Ki Joon used to be engaged. She was perfect in every way, but Chairman Hyun was against it. She now understands why A Jung and Ki Joon panicked when Chairman Hyun visited. Soran goes on to add that it was her who Ki Joon was seeing. Soran hands the note with Yoon Joo's name and number. A Jung pretends that she doesn't care, but she ends up visiting Yoon Joo's place.

A Jung is shocked to have found that Yoon Joo is gorgeous.

She parties with her colleagues and starts gulping down alcohol. She goes pretty crazy and becomes the party pooper.

A Jung is drunk and tells the cab to take her to Ki Joon's place. She wakes up at Ki Joon's place with only her under wear on. She remembers being all drunk and making a mess at his place. She quickly puts her clothes on and tries to leave. Ki Joon jokes that she has done something terribly wrong. While A Jung goes to the bathroom fix her makeups, Ki Joon shakes up Coke to pull up a prank on her. A Jung opens the bottle and it explodes on her. They have fun spraying Coke to each other.

Ki Joon kisses A Jung and she kisses him back. Ki Joon says that it's their second kiss.

Ki Joon receives a call from her aunt and goes out to see her.

Meanwhile, Yoon Joo is visiting Sanghee. She asks if he still likes her. Yeah, it's been a while since we saw him. Sanghee doesn't want to answer. He says that she shouldn't be worried. No one can touch Yoon Joo inside Ki Joon's heart.

Chairman Hyun tells Ki Joon to take care of Yoon Joo.

Sanghee visits Ki Joon to tell him that he's ok with him being with Yoon Joo. He yells that it's not over. Then he goes on to tell Ki Joon that he's fine with Yoon Joo.

Chairman Hyun calls A Jung to a fancy restaurant. She finds Ki Joon and his aunt there. They are all puzzled by this, and Yoon Joo walks in. A Jung recognizes her, but Yoon Joo seems to not know.

Chairman Hyun decided to go with A Jung's act because she wanted to one day do this. She introduced A Jung to Yoon Joo as Ki Joon's wife. Ki Joon is furious and he yells at her to stop. Yoon Joo can't take it anymore and she runs out of the restaurant. Ki Joon is furious and he follows after Yoon Joo. A Jung is also puzzled by this. She is worried sick if Ki Joon still likes her.

Ki Joon drives to Yoon Joo's place to find her there, but he doesn't find him there. Ki Joon ends up finding Yoon Joo at the beach where they last said their good-byes. Yoon Joo remembers what Sanghee told her.

"No one can touch Yoon Joo inside Ki Joon's heart. "

A Jung is worried sick, and she waits outside Ki Joon's place all night. She goes onto see if they are at Yoon Joo's place. A Jung sees them drive up, and Yoon Joo invites them in. A Jung sees all the pictures that they took and realize how serious they were. Yoon Joo apologizes and thanks A Jung. They are back together now.

Ki Joon follows after A Jung, but he cannot say any words. A Jung says that it's ok then drives away. A Jung is heart broken and she cries while driving.

Soran and Jaebum have a fight, because Jaebum got caught to A Jung cheating.

"You can't even have an affair in secret?" says Soran. This is quite funny, because she's not at all angry at him for cheating.

A Jung finally goes to Soran to tell her the truth. She finds the house in mess. Soran finally admits taht her marriage isn't too spectacular. A Jung blankly tells her that everything was a joke, and she really isn't married to Ki Joon.

A Jung walks out from the aparment and breaks into tears.

Ok so there is that usual synopsis of the guy going back to his old girlfriend. It's funny, because it's a lot less common to see similar synopsis where a girl goes back to her old boyfriend. Everyone understands that it's over when a girl is done with a guy. He will definately go back to A Jung, or there really wasn't a point of this drama. It's Sanghee that we should be worried about. If he now likes A Jung instead of Yoon Joo, he will have his love taken from his brother. Again. That's gonna hurt.

Soran isn't much of a plot anymore. I think she was just there to start this whole plot.

Let's give A Jung a bit more of attention, because she is heartbroken. But I don't really feel it for her, because we all know it will all work out for her eventually. Actually everything works out eventually. Sometimes problems are really solved the way we want, or we learn to let go. Either way, we don't cry about it for rest of our lives. But why does it hurt so much then?
