Lie To Me Episode 5 Recap:

Previously  on Lie To Me - Ki Joon (Kang Ji Hwan) takes A Jung (Yoon Eun Hye) to the pedal boat park to propose a deal. He "proposes" that she marries him. What? Well as you probably have guessed if you're a K-Drama fan, he asks her to pretend to be married to him. A Jung knows how to play the game, and she declines. "Don't bother asking me, unless you're going to tell me why you have changed your mind." A Jung walks away with her fingers crossed. She starts couting, desperately waiting for Ki Joon to ask her to stop. Her counting gets nervous as she gets close to ten. To her relief, Ki Joon asks her to stop.

At the restaurant, Ki Joon tells her that Mr. Chen is a VVIP. Ki Joon doesn't believe that A Jung didn't know this. He even wonders if she is an industrial spy, or has a spy in her hotel. A Jung whatevers this, and asks him to write a contract. 

It's a Saturday afternoon, A Jung has nothing to do. Hold on, she is a married woman! She calls Soran to go shopping together. A Jung shops for skincare products for men. Soran and A Jung shop together, and she would pretend to be calling Ki Joon once in a while. She would be calling him my Joon once in a while. A Jung does her best to make Soran jealous. When they are shopping mens wear together, Soran asks if she knows her husband's size. She doesn't know it of course, and says:

"He doesn't wear factory made you know. It's got to be taylored. His assistant does most of it, so it doesn't matter" And this drives Soran CRAZY~

Soran hands her a gift, a hairpin that A Jung seemed to wanted. Soran asks where her wedding ring is. That moment, Jaebum comes to visit. Soran makes sure she shows the best marriage possible to A Jung by saying like "best thing about him is taking out trash well." 

Meanwhile, Hoon saw the contract A Jung and Ki Joon made. He thinks it's great that he has done this, and that he should bring A Jung whenever he is seeing Chairman Chen. Ki Joon says that he doesn't want to lie on purpose. And he adds that he will still be taking legal actions after the contract is over. Hoon calls him cheap. My thought exactly. 

Ki Joon receives a text asking him what his size was. Ki Joon smirks, but he is bothered. Bothered enough to ruin his golf game.

After the game, Yoon Joo, calls him and says that she has returned. Ki Joon runs to the roof, thinking back at the old days, when he ran the same stairways. When old Ki Joon with glasses got to upstairs , Yoon Joo shows him her hand with the proposal ring. She asks, "how does it look?" The couple hugs and spin around in happiness.

It's not as sweet as past anymore. He looks at her, and asks "when did you come?" Yoon Joo no longer has a ring on her finger. They can't hide their excitement, but the couple can't be together and it's sad. 

A Jung is at the cafe, looking at her phone. Sanghee pays her a visit, and asks how it went. A Jung asks if he was a industrial spy. Sanghee just laughes, and says that she should keep it simple. What would be more likely? Him being a spy or.... doesn't his name give a hint? Hyun Ki Joon and Hyun Sang Hee. A Jung doesn't even bother to think. He wants her to pay her back, and they go hangout at a karyoke place. A Jung has fun and she is ok at singing ( Yoon Eun Hye was in a girlband back in oldschool days.)

A Jung cries that this isn't the marriage she wanted to look like having. She tell him what she wanted:

First she would be late to the meeting with her friends. She would then brag about her husband, and he always takes out trash. Then she would need to leave early, because her husband is looking for her. And when she goes shopping, she would be confident in buy his shirts, because she knows him the best.

A Jung envies Soran, but Sanghee says that her marriage isn't probably that great either. It's not real. 

As Sanghee has mentioned, Soran finds lipmark on her husband's dress shirt. This drives her crazy and she empties the entire detergent in laundry. She then drives away in insanity. 

Yoon Joo and Ki Joon have a walk together. Yoon Joo teases him for caring only about work, and Ki Joon accidentally mentions Sanghee. Yoon Joo goes silent for minutes.

"I tried to find someone nicer than you." says Yoon Joo. "I tried my best to look for one, but I couldn't find any." Yoon Joo then puts her hand on Ki Joon's cheek.

Soran watches this from far away. She is ever so delighted. Soran sips beer with a big smile on her face.

Soran can't waste any time. She would call A Jung to talk to her the next day. Soran pities her "bestfriend" and says she is sorry for not helping her. When A Jung is puzzled, Soran says, "Oh you did not know? Your husband is having an affair." Really... What a devil like girl. lol

A Jung is angry at this news. She rushes into Ki Joons office and yells, "I'm warning you don't you ever go near other women."

She then finds out that he was having an important meeting with Chairman Chen and runs back to the elevator. Ki Joon is angry and he pulls her out of the elevator. She first says sorry, but then starts yelling at him for being with some other girl. All guys have affairs except for one man A Jung knows. Jaebum.

It's quite funny because a couple enters the elevator, and it's Jaebum and her mistress. This drives a hole in A Jung heart. Of all people... Even Jaebum?

Sanghee visits the cafe, and his friend cooks for him and Ae Kyung. Sanghee asks AeKyung why she wasnt married when she is so pretty. He works his usual charm on her. Ae Kyung starts telling her story: she used to like a single-dad. She even convinced her parents, but someone against the marriage with her life -- the daughter. Sanghee asks if that is A Jung. Yes, she sounds like the one who would do such a thing. While they are talking about how A Jung, A Jung's father comes to the cafe. They go out to have lunch together. SukBong is ever so jealous to see them go off. 

A Jung is betrayed by Jaebum. She had believed in him. More like, she had believed that there was a man to be trusted. And when that belief was shattered, it hurt her deeply. She starts drinking by herself, and calls Ki Joon to come out. He reluctantly comes out, and she is already drunk her butt off. AJung tells her story, and Ki Joon asks if she was still in love with Jaebum. A Jung does not answer. When they go out, A Jung starts walk all drunk, yelling him to not cheat on girls. People look at them as if Ki Joon is the guy who cheat. She then strands off the sidewalk to the road and is almost hit by a car. Ki Joon saves her and hugs her. A Jung then pukes on him. Eww.

Ki Joon washes the vomit off in the bathroom. 

A Jung sobers up and tries to run away, and Ki Joon catches her. Her mascara is smudged all over. She sees her brutal face in local pharmacy.

A Jung sits at the park bench after washing up. Ki Joon asks if she still likes Jaebum. A Jung says that she doesn't need to be in love to be disappointed in a person. All people change, but she wanted Jaebum to remain the cool guy he was. Ki Joon says that if he did, it would have been worse for her.

My first love finally ended today. says A Jung in her head looking at Ki Joon's eyes, then his lips. Ki Joon then slowly apporaches A Jung trying to kiss her. At the last moment, they open their eyes. Oh no. What was I about to do?

Ki Joon wakes up uneasily the next morning. What HAVE I DONE?

A Jung calls him the cafe. To Ki Joon's surprise, she doesn't even mention about last night. She adds to the contract that there will be no cheating ever. Before she drives off, A Jung tells Ki Joon that she doesn't care about anything that happened while they were drunk. 

Soran tells her friends about Ki Joon's "affairs". The friends are shocked.

A Jung breaks her saving so that she could buy a fake wedding ring so she can show off to Soran. Sanghee takes her to a much nicer place and actually rents the ring for her. He is like Ginnie from the lamp. 

A Jung vists Soran's place and flashes her wedding ring. Soran notices it first, but she doesn't say a word. Jaebum comes home with flowers for his wife. It's probably Soran's plan to show off her every-so-nice husband. Jaebum is awkward with A Jung because she has seen him with other woman. He quickly disappears saying that he is busy. 

A Jung shows off her ring to her friends. They are impressed with the ring's setting. She carefully mentions that it's her 2nd ring, implying that her proposal ring has a much bigger rock on it.
