Lie to Me Episode 6

I finally understand why this drama was getting the hype in Korea. Its later episodes are rather impressive. It's still not really getting funny, but A Jung is just making the problem bigger and bigger. I really want to find out how her scam ends. Well, it will probably end with her falling in love with Ki Joon, but how will she explain her lies?

Episode 6 Recap:

As A Jung (Yoon Eun Hye) enjoys showing off her false life with bling bling diamond ring on her 4th finger, Soran (Hong Soo Hyun)asks when A Jung will do her house warming party.

"House warming party?" says A Jung looking most worried.

A Jung goes to visit Ki Joon immediately. She says that they are screwed. She really has a knack of cutting straight to the point. I think she expects that other people are psychic or something, because she always gets people confused.

She asks Ki Joon if she can borrow his place, and his answer is most definately: NO.

Sanghee and A Jung are eating corndogs at a park. He waited in the line for an hour to get it. A Jung is not thankful for it at all, and she lazily returns the ring back to Sanghee. But now she needs a place to borrow for house warming party. It's ok. Sanghee will take care of it all.

Chairman Hyun hears about A Jung going around telling everyone that she is married to Ki Joon. She can't leave it any longer, it's time for her to take some actions herself. That moment, Yoon Joo visits her to say Hi. Hyun welcomes her, but her face cannot hide a bit of resentment. Yoon Joo does not notice and leaves the place with a smile. Chairman Hyun colds says that she will let A Jung do whatever she wants for a while. By the looks of her looking at Yoon Joo leaving through window, she is definately planning something. She probably wants ward off Yoon Joo using A Jung.

Sanghee explains to A Jung how Chairman Hyun leaves her place absent during weekends. She is not convinced one bit, and kicks Sanghee out of the car. When she goes to her office, Soran is there waiting for her. Do they really have nothing else to do? She desperately calls Sanghee to go with the plan then visits Ki Joon while he is jogging.

A Jung now has the upper hand, she doesn't need Ki Joon anymore. (at least she thinks) But why would she even bother to visit Ki Joon if she doesn't need him? Just to say "Don't be so cheap with a house, you cheapo. We won't ever see eachother again." She is so bipolar.

Chairman Hyun visits Ki Joon to talk about Yoon Joo. Yes, she likes her. There is nothing to hate about Yoon Joo even for the most resentful person. She is so adorable.

"HOWEVER," Hyun adds. " I can't give up Sanghee for her. Please don't let your brother leave again."

Ki Joon is introduced to the new display designer, Oh Yoon Joo. They both pretend to not know eachother. She comments that the CEO is a bit young. Ki Joon adds that it goes same for her too.

A Jung is walking the park while thinking about her almost-kiss with Ki Joon. She smiles. Does she now have a crush on Ki Joon?

The next day, Hoon and Ki Joon go to the cafe A Jung likes to have lunch together. Hoon says that he found out about cafe because he is friends with A Jung on Facebook. Jaebum coincidentally sees both Ki Joon and Hoon at the cafe. Jaebum recognizes Hoon and asks if his friend's case has been solved alright. Jaebum mentions that had he taken the case, he would have made them sorry by making them pay considerable amount.

Hoon tells Ki Joon that it was Jaebum that A Jung was in love with. A Jung studied for the license exam, but her friend was secretly dating him. Hoon knows all this because he is her Facebook friend of course.

Meanwhile, the civil servants are excited that it's lunch time. Yes! It must be great to be working in non-competitive environment. Imagine a DMV that pays a lot, isnt' that a non-stressful heaven?

A problem came up. Chairman Hyun won't be leaving her place this weekend, and now she has no place to hold her house warming party. Sanghee and A Jung discuss what they are going to do while taking a walk. That moment, Ki Joon drives in, and sees A Jung and Sang Hee together. Sanghee calls out for his brother and AJung now knows that Sanghee is Ki Joon's brother. Ki Joon angrily drives away at his brother's betrayal. A Jung also feels betrayed and kicks Sanghee's shin.

Sanghee goes to Ki Joon's place to apologize and to beg his brother to help out A Jung for his sake. Sanghee says that she didn't know either, but Ki Joon is not willing to believe it.

A Jung wakes up from a dream where Soran makes fun of her saying:

"House warming party isn't just for anyone."

Sanghee visits his school friend, and sees Yoon Joo there. Yoon Joo is about to leave, because Sanghee doesn't come. Suk Bong says that he will call him again, but Yoon Joo knows that Sang Hee wouldn't come if he knew she was there.

Sanghee cools off by shooting ball. Yes. Korean celebrities aren't too good at basketball, but let's have a bigger heart for them. He is also a lot skinnier than he looks.

A Jung visits Ki Joon to maybe ask him one last time, but she just can't ring the door bell. Hoon finds out that Sanghee and A Jung are friends from Ki Joon. He tells Ki Joon that she was just here outside the door. Ki Joon wonders why, and tries to call her. But drops the phone. He's in the game already. He then texts in teasing tone, "how is the house warming party preparation going?" A Jung gets cranky from this, and tries to get him back. Ki Joon finally determines to call A Jung and asks if he could see her. A Jung calls him out to an apartment. A realtor is there, and she asks if Ki Joon is her husband.

How far is she going just to keep her pride? Isn't she going too far just to revenge for the friend who took her boy? A Jung says that he wouldn't know because nothing ever has hurt his ego. She can't really marry Ki Joon just for revenge, so the party is a much better choice.

A Jung says that she has the last resort, so Ki Joon shouldn't worry and mind his own business. It turns out her last resort is hypnosis. What a fool.

She finds Sanghee waiting for A Jung. She then remembers all the hints he has been giving her and does not blame Sanghee anymore. They go have udon together. Ki Joon wakes up from the dream where Sanghee and A Jung set his house on fire. He worries about A Jung more than he looks. He decides that he will let her borrow the house for a day. What exactly changed his mind? I don't really know.

A Jung quickly sets up the place so that it looks like she lives there. Sanghee is the Ginnie of the lamp, her fairy godmother, and borrows dresses from somewhere and puts them all in the wardrobe.

Ki Joon goes to watch movies with Hoon. Two guys watching a melo-drama, haha. Yoon Joo calls in and asks if he could come for a meal. This gets Ki Joon all serious faced.

Jaebum doesn't want to go, because he can't see A Jung in the eyes anymore. He tries to play sick, but Soran doesn't let him off.

"I don't care how you live and I won't care. But you do WELL infront of A Jung. Don't you ever let her know that our marriage is like this." says Soran.

Someone rings the doorbell of Yoon Joo's place, and she goes out to greet Ki Joon. But it's Sanghee instead, and she looks very VERY disappointed. The drama doesn't give any attention to Yoon Joo. There are more important things going on. As you probably have guess from the photo, Ki Joon goes back home. He decides to play along. The house warming party starts and her friends admire the amazing husband of their friend.

A Jung's friends check out the wardrobe like girls playing with dolls. They see A Jung and Ki Joon whispering and think that they are whispering love. The friends tease them for being newly weds.

They have a meal together, and they are impressed by her cooking. They ask if she cooks normally. No! She can't say that she does because she is the wife of a wealthy man. Jaebum then explains : "A Jung's always been good at cooking." This draws attention of both Soran and Ki Joon. He also goes to further explain how she lost her mother in early days. Something funny is going on, why is Jaebum crossing the line? He has deep caring tone in his voice. This sets alarm off to Ki Joon, and he is also feeling sympathy for A Jung. This is the first time he has heard this.

A Jung is uncomfortable by the subject of the conversation and leave the scene for a while. Jaebum sneaks out to A Jung and begs that she will keep his affairs a secret. He thanks her and says that he will buy her a meal sometime. Ki Joon catches A Jung coming out from the bathroom with Jaebum. He gives Jaebum dirty looks. Soran is also jealous as A Jung walks to the living room with Ki Joon on the right and Jaebum on the left. Odd silence drapes over the room.

Jaebum breaks the silence by suggesting that they sing together. He challenges Ki Joon to sing by saying "it's not like you can't sing." Ki Joon is annoyed and sings with A Jung. The couple sing a duet together. While they are singing, Ki Joon looks at her eyes.

Their almost-kiss comes finally true. He kisses A Jung in the middle of the song, and she kisses him back. It's not even like a smooch. It's a full french kiss.

Why did he kiss her all of the sudden? Was it jealousy of Jaebum that drove this love line? I can't wait until the next episode because Chairman Hyun will be ambushing the party anytime now. How will they act to conceal the act and to still convince the friends that they are married? Stay tuned for Lie to Me
