MBLAQ receives criticism for starting their Japanese tour on Korea's Liberation Day + J.Tune Camp responds
explained, "We of course thought hard about performing in Japan on Liberation Day. We tried to change the date as much as possible, but we couldn't because of a lot of problems and schedules."
They explained, "When we first got the date, even the company workers were very against it. But if you take a different outlook, it's not something that's problematic. Since we were freed from Japanese rule on that day, it may even actually feel weirder for the Japanese fans. So to stand on a Japanese stage on such a day like that is something that actually heighten K-Pop's status... Instead of thinking of it negatively, please look at it optimistically."
It seems like timing isn't on these boys' side at times for this isn't their first time clashing with a matter related to this. Last year, they werecalled out for performing Japanese ninja-themed "Run" stage one day after Korea's national celebration of the March 1st Movement (which honors one of the first displays of Korean resistance during the Japanese occupation).
Hopefully the agency's statement will resolve the misunderstandings as the boys kick off their upcoming tour.
