Model-turned-designer, Hye Park: Puppy Love

Hye Park is a world famous model. There is nothing to find flaws with her appearance. Especially, her perfectly proportionate body. But she is also beautiful inside. The recent model-turned designer launched her own clothing line naming after her, Hye Park and Lune. Now, she is presenting us the T-shirt collection delivering the message of the care for abandoned dogs. Allure looks into how this fashion campaign all started.

-          Congrats on launching your own brand. How did it all start?

I was very much interested in Fashion, of course. And as a model, I could learn more about fashion brands and designer brands. I was on the runway, wearing fancy wardrobes but I was more interested in easy everyday wear. And I got the chance to work with one of my closest designer friend and launch our own line.

 

-          Tell us about the ‘Born to love you' line

It started with the intention to recommend adopting abandoned dog rather than buying them and to raise the awareness. There are 9 limited edition T-shirts. Modern artist WOO Kookwon also participated in the project to add his illustration on T-shirts.

 

-          So, are you interested in social issue as well as fashion?

My dog, Bokyi, who I met at the center for abandoned dogs. I just love dogs so much. So naturally caring for dogs make me get involved with such volunteer works helping them. LEE Hyori is a passionate supporter, too.

 

-          Which one of the T-shirt design is your favorite?

I love them all but the yellow one with the dog biting the owners arm is my favorite. It looks like the dog is trying to say something to the owner.

 

-          Are there any other projects underway?

We were planning on host a bazaar but it was cancelled because of the Sewol ferry sinking. Now we are working on some other things that are more consistent, than being one time event. The key message will be the same. To raise awareness for abandoned dogs. Every season we will design new line for this campaign and all the profits will be used for protecting abandoned dogs.
