Oh My Girl BANHANA shared their experiences of promoting as a sub-unit and their most memorable moments after debuting three years ago.
The members of the sub-unit explained, “Only the three of us sang the title track, but the other members participated in the other songs. Our members appear in the music video as well, and they helped us with our performance on music shows.”
Kim Chang Ryul asked if there will be other units of Oh My Girl, and they replied, “The members of Oh My Girl BANHANA are flexible. If there are more units in the future, the name will stay the same, but the members may change.”
Oh My Girl BANHANA also talked about holding their showcase on a home-shopping network. They explained, “We appeared with a totally different concept from before. We wondered what we could do to show a new side of ourselves, which is how we ended up having a home-shopping showcase.” Arin added, “We did the show at 1 a.m., and I was so amazed and honored that we appeared on a show that I used to watch with my parents.”
When asked if they felt awkward about having to fill up the stage by themselves without the other members, Binnie answered, “It’s the first time I had such a long part. So I came to learn of the responsibility of the vocalists of our group.” Hyojung said, “Since we got more parts, we practiced singing live more. The three of us had to fill up the stage, so we also practiced dancing a lot.”
Since this is the third year since their debut in 2015, the girls took a moment to reflect on their most memorable times. Hyojung said, “I remember how my members pulled a hidden camera prank on me on my birthday. I always pretended to be fearless, but on that day, I was so shocked by the hidden camera prank that I cried.”
Binnie chose acting with Girls’ Generation’s YoonA as her the most memorable moment. Binnie showed great affection for her, saying, “I really like YoonA. I got the chance to act in a drama for raising awareness about disabilities with her, and I was so happy that I felt like my heart was going to burst.”
Arin revealed that her most memorable moment was performing with Apink, TWICE, and other girl groups and also covering their songs on stage. She stated, “I like powerful things, so if there is a chance, I’d like to do that kind of performance again.”
The girls also rated their activities as a sub-unit. Hyojung and Binnie gave themselves a score of five while Arin gave them a score of six. Hyojung said, “They say a good beginning is half the battle. That’s why I gave us a five.” Arin explained, “They gave us a five, so I added one more point and gave us a six.”
