It's not uncommon these days for members of idol groups to go down solo paths once in a while as the rest of the group takes a break or each member does her own thing.  While a lot of them don't deviate much from the normal group image, some show a new charm or side to themselves for their solo careers--a concept they personally get to shape that shows off their individuality.

While HyunA as a solo artist often goes for a deadly combination of sexy and cute with bright colors (think "Bubble Pop" and her most recent one, "Red"), she either shows off her tougher, badass side with plenty of swag and street fashion to back it up or goes for a quirkier, electro-pop sound as a part of 4minute.

Ga In vs. Brown Eyed Girls' Ga In

Whether she's solo or part of a group, Ga In exudes a high level of sexiness in whatever she does.  Still, there's a unique touch of individuality in her solo promotions, a different artistry and innovation that is both blatant and subtle.  As part of Brown Eyed Girls, Ga In becomes a more mainstream sexy star that is just as enjoyable to watch and listen to.

Amber vs. f(x)'s Amber

f(x) has a unique sound, but Amber gets to go for a more funky, sassy, brassy sound as a solo act.  Not only that, she does get more rapping time and substantially more singing time, surprising everybody with her impressive vocals as a solo act!  Although she's more relatable and entertaining as a solo act, she does seem more charismatic and sexy as part of f(x), so which do you prefer?

HA:TFELT vs. Wonder Girls' Yenny

There's no doubt that there's a stark difference between HA:TFELT (Yenny's solo name) and Wonder Girls' Yenny.  The former unleashes all her artistic and creative passion for songwriting and singing while the latter sticks to a more retro and mainstream pop sound with an abundance of colors.  Artistic and deep or retro and fun?

Minah vs. Girl's Day's Minah

Minah made her solo debut just recently and showed off her stunning vocals.  As a solo act, she is more mature and elegant--not very sexy like "Something" or very girly like "Darling."  This shows she has grown into a mature young lady, which is impressive, but to certain people, she may seem more lovable as part of the vibrant Girl's Day.  Your thoughts?
