Psy talks about getting on 'TIME's 'Top Ten Worst Songs' and Billboard's 'Top 100'

Psymade an appearance onJTBC's 'Newsroom' on December 10 and talked with anchorSon Suk Heeabout a variety of things.

When asked about "Daddy" being ranked on 'TIME's 'Top Ten Worst Songs' recently, Psy stated,"I'm grateful to 'TIME' for the interest because, although [they say it's] the worst song of the year, it had only been out for two days [at the time].  The people who got into the top ten are distinguished.  [In the article], they also said that the dance was plain, but while I was making the 'Daddy' dance, I was wishing I had four arms.  If that's plain, it's a problem of preference and subjectivity.

"What I don't understand was their saying there was no distinctiveness in the lyrics - I think that's because they don't know Korean.  Wouldn't they have viewed it a bit less simply if the Korean had been translated well and liberally?"

Regarding theBillboardTop 100 list, Son Suk Hee asked,"Is rank 97 not enough?"and Psy replied to the contrary with, "I'm easily thrilled to a point - I even just like seeing Psy written next to 'lyric writer' and 'composer' at the karaoke.  The official title is Billboard's Hot 100 and just as it says, the very fact that those are the hottest records in North America is encouraging. Honestly, I didn't think I'd make it.  I was only immersed in Korean promotions, but I think it was chiefly due to the YouTube views."
