R-Rated Crime Thriller Tops 2-Million Viewer Mark in 1 Week

The crime thriller"Asura: The City of Madness"has hit the 2-million mark in cinema attendance since its release last Wednesday.

The number of viewers exceeded 2 million on Monday, just six days after its release, according to the Korea Film Council.

Given that it is rated R, it is quite a feat.

The flick is drawing favorable reviews thanks to the impressive performances by its star-studded cast includingJeong Woo-seong,Hwang Jeong-minandKwak Do-won.

It tells the story of a political underworld rampant with corruption and kickbacks.
