Rather than protecting transferred bullied student, teacher surprises by telling student to go back to old school

As a student, you would expect that the adults around you, especially your teachers, would protect you and have your best interests at heart. On December 10,MBN Newsrevealed that a first year high school studentParkwas not receiving this protection. After being violently attacked in one school by four students, Park attempted to transfer to another school, but was told to go back.

Park transferred to a new school in the middle of Gyeonggi Province. Park's new school became concerned that Park was getting bullied yet again as she was attacked by one particular student.

Yet instead of punishing the attacking student, the school made a strange decision to punish the student who was attacked. Only a week after her transfer, Park was given a notice of dismissal. Park said, "Suddenly the teacher in charge of our grade told me that I had to go back to the school I originally went to." She said that the teacher went so far as to repeat him/herself during class. He/she called on Park and told her again, "Pack your bags and go back to the school you originally went to."

The vice principal explained, "It would be difficult for our school to receive a victim of high school violence when we have a student who commits such violence too,"revealing his bizarre logic to ban the victim rather than discipline the assailant or at least mediate their fight.

Park has claimed that she and her assailant at her new school had actually reconciled and were getting along fine now. She also felt upset that she could no longer attend her new school as she had already made many new close friends during her one week stay.

Netizens commented on how they found the school's decision to kick Park out to be ridiculous as comments read: "What kind of nuthead would think that there would be a concern for high school violence when it's the victim and not the assailant transferring to their school?" and "'Victim, go to the bar and become an assailant' - School."
