The company's representative wouldn't confirm that the comeback month was in September, but also didn't deny it. They toldOSEN, "Its true that f(x) is currently preparing for a new album. But the time period has not been decided yet."

SM Entertainment hasn't yet responded about Red Velvet's comeback, so we'll have to stay tuned for that.
