SNSD Yuri, ‘Ms. Kwon Positive’, Parody of Noh Hong Cheol’s ‘Mr. Noh Positive’

Girls Generation (SNSD) Yuri garnered a lot of attention with the parody of Noh Hong Cheol’s character ‘Mr. Noh Positive’ on MBC ‘Infinite Challenge’.

One video titled with ‘Ms. Noh Positive’ was posted on online entertainment community board. The video starts with subtitle “As ‘Infinite Challenge’ has Mr. Noh Positive, we have the emblem of women, ‘Ms. Kwon Positive’” and contains Yuri in Girls Generation (SNSD) talking to herself in positive way and admiring her positive mind.

There are three reasons why Yuri is called ‘Ms. Kwon Positive’. First, Yuri did not even get anger though Jessica was cooking tuna salad for about one hour. Jessica and Yuri cooked together on Mnet ‘Factory Girl of Girls Generation (SNSD)’. Yuri complained to Jessica about her playing silly and Jessica whined with saying, “She pretends to be busy”. Yuri was first a little angry with saying, “What did you say?” but soon recovered her peace of mind and told herself in positive way, “It’s all right because you can’t cook well. Yuri~ You should understand her.”

The second reason is that she overcomes embarrassing situation with her positive self-talk.  She had to pose ‘lion yoga’ in front of members when she appeared on KBS ‘G7’. The lion pose is to extend tongue and widen eyes while kneeling down and this posture is embarrassing for member of girl group. However Yuri said to herself, “Yuri, you’d better to do it right at once” and gave a demonstration of lion yoga posture even though Kim Shin Young’s sabotages, “You don’t really extend your tongue and widen your eyes, do you?”

The last reason why she became ‘Ms. Kwon Positive’ is testimony of members. Tae Yeon told on the radio program and mentioned Yuri as manic psychosis member, “Her personality is very positive and bright. So I could be also bright and happy with her. It’s getting funnier with her.” When Girls Generation (SNSD) appeared on KBS 2 ‘Seung Seung Jang Gu’, members told, “Yuri told too much to herself. She always told to herself like ‘It’s all right, Yuri. You can do it’” and they mimicked her self-talk.

Netizens after watching the video gave hot responses, ‘Yuri doesn’t pretend to do but she really looks like bright and funny. We felt happy seeing her’, ‘So funny ‘Ms. Kwon Positive’’.

Girls Generation (SNSD) will release their third single ‘Mr. Taxi’ in Japan on 27th.
