T-ara's Jiyeon to star in Chinese film

Jiyeonof girl groupT-arahas been selected to take part in the Korean-Chinese co-produced movie "Reunion" (working title), which is expected to be released in October.

The movie is a romantic comedy featuring a love story that unfolds on a cruise ship as it heads from Barcelona to the Indian Ocean.

Actor Lee Dong-gun is currently reviewing whether or not to join the work.

The 21-year-old singerJiyeondebuted as a member ofT-arain 2009, which enjoyed a high level of popularity until a story about several members bullying another,Hwa Young, went viral in 2012.

After the girl band was criticized for their behavior, the members, includingJiyeon, went solo. She released her album "Never Ever" in 2014 and also started acting. She most recently appeared in the MBC drama "Triangle - Drama" (2014).
