'The Merchant: Gaekju 2015' Kim Min-jeong resigns from national teacher shrine to marry Jang Hyeok
On the 39th episode of KBS 2TV's"The Merchant: Gaekju 2015", Mae-wol (Kim Min-jeong) resigned from her position with National Teacher Shrine and asked for forgiveness for the serious sin to deny a position assigned by queen.
As Mae-wol told the queen (Choi Ji-na) she wanted to be withdrawn from the National Teacher Shrine, her requested was rejected. Mae-wol laid a mat in front of the palace and flopped on her knees to ask for a permission to resign.
Mae-wol ended up fainting during the petition after all.
Queen said, "When I was 14, I married His Highness. I do not understand what a love between a man and a woman is like as well the longing heart for someone despite the risk to lose your life. You may resign from the National Shrine". The queen finally allowed Mae-wol to resign.
