ActressSin Eun-kyeongof the 2001 action film "My Wife Is a Gangster" is back in cinemas after a four-year break with her new thriller"The Plan".

At a press junket held last week at Hotel Prima in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, the film's directorPark Chang-jinand leadsSin Eun-kyeong,Oh In-hye,Lee Ki-youngandKang Ji-seobdiscussed the movie, which explores the lives of loan sharks.

"I came across a female loan shark by chance", said Park, "and that's when I got the idea for the movie".

The film revolves around Se-hee (Sin Eun-kyeong), a girl from a sheltered environment who becomes a merciless moneylender after being betrayed by her own family.

Although the depictions are cruel, the film does not point any fingers.

"This movie doesn't talk about who's right and who's wrong, it depicts the world objectively", said Lee, an actor with 30 years of experience.

Instead, according to Oh, the film "shows the dark side of different characters, and I think wounded hearts will be sympathetic to the movie".

Compassion was also shown between the co-stars when Shin praised Oh for her hard work on set.

"Min-young is not an easy character to play, but Oh played the character very well", said Shin. "On the day of shooting the sex scene, Oh seemed very nervous, so I gave her cheongsimhwan [Oriental herbal medicine] to help her relax".

When asked to rate her performance as a cold-blooded loan shark, Shin joked that she deserved praise.

"I thought there's no one else who could play Se-hee and be able to pull it off like me", she said.

For Kang, the film is very special since it is his big-screen debut.

"It was like a dream. I was thrilled and excited to work with such great actors", said Kang, when asked what it was like to shoot the very first scene in his first film. "I couldn't put the script down when I first read it, and I wanted to take part in the film so bad when I heard Sin was cast in the film".

The film opens Sept. 18.
