Verbal Jint is next celeb to be caught drinking and driving

FollowingKanginandLee Jung,Verbal Jintis the next artist to be caught with a DUI.

Hip hop musician Verbal Jint (36) personally revealed the news through his Instagram the other day, and following that, KBS 2TV's '60-Minute Pursuit' revealed that they were there the moment he got caught.

Back on June 16 at 10 PM, he was driving his car in Mapo-gu, Seoul when he was caught by police who were checking people for DUI.  At the time, KBS 2TV's '60-Minute Pursuit' was covering the problem of drinking and driving when the production crew saw a Bentley trying to pass to avoid getting caught for drinking and driving.  The production crew quickly followed with the police where they caught the driver whose face was covered by a mask.

The person turned out to be Verbal Jint, who was then asked how much he drank.  He replied,"I drank about three bottles of beer at home, and while drinking, I came out briefly to buy alcohol in front of my house."  He was then asked why he didn't hire a designated driver, and he replied,"Because it was close to my house by 1 km (~ 0.6 miles),"showing how sorry he felt.  His blood alcohol level at the time was 0.067% which is applicable for a license suspension, and there was no passenger in the car.  The interview and scene will be aired on July 6.

Meanwhile, he revealed this fact personally through his Instagram with,"Hello.  I'm sorry that I have to relay bad news.  Four days ago, I confess to driving intoxicated near my house with an alcohol blood level of 0.067% and getting caught.  It's predicted that my license will be suspended for 100 days.  This is completely my wrongdoing for which there is no excuse, and I am deeply self-reflecting on my irresponsible behavior by forgetting that a drunk driver could be a potential assailant.  I cannot hide such a fact, nor should it be hidden, so I am posting these embarrassing words.  Once again, I am sorry for showing a disappointing image."

He wrote this post before it was revealed that '60-Minute Pursuit' had information about his arrest, so when it was found out today that the program has coverage of the DUI, a controversy arose over the sincerity of his earlier personal confession via SNS.

His agency,Brand New Music, stated,"He didn't make the confession to be one step ahead.  He had no idea that '60-Minute Pursuit' even had filmed about it.  He didn't confess in order to be exonerated.  He personally felt very guilty, and decided that he could stand before his fans like this, so he made his confession."
